Top design and construction firm boosts performance by 75%, achieves enterprise-class disaster recovery and significantly increases operational efficiency with SimpliVity OmniCube

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. - April 28, 2015 - SimpliVity, a leader in hyperconverged infrastructure for IT, today announced that The Neenan Company, a design and construction firm, is leveraging SimpliVity OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure systems to simplify its IT infrastructure and improve disaster recovery capabilities, and drive greater data and performance efficiency - resulting in dramatic operational and financial benefits. After replacing its legacy infrastructure with SimpliVity's hyperconverged infrastructure solution, The Neenan Company:

The Neenan Company has a team of three IT professionals responsible for protecting 40 mission-critical virtual machines that keep the business running each day. The company sought a solution that would provide on-premises operational recovery and off-premises disaster recovery to protect itself from data loss and business downtime, using a partner's data center as its disaster recovery site. While improving its disaster recovery capabilities was a top priority, this was also an opportunity to conduct a technology refresh and leverage a new solution to reduce annual maintenance and operating expenses.

The Neenan Company's IT team deployed two SimpliVity OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure systems at two locations to support its mission-critical applications - including CMiC project software powered by Oracle 10g, Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, AutoDesk Revit, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux.

In addition to local backups, backups are regularly replicated between The Neenan Company's primary and disaster recovery sites.
